This project is just the beginning of a lush journey we are taking together with all our ECA Technology partners and clients through whom we want to convey important values.<\/p>\n
Planting trees in fact is one of the most important strategies for improving the quality of life in our cities, not only for environmental reasons but also for the benefit of public health and sustainable development.<\/p>\n
What are the main benefits<\/b> that tree planting brings? Let’s find out together:<\/p>\n\n- 1. <\/span>Counteracting climate change<\/b>: vegetation requires CO2 in order to carry out photosynthesis, so plants store large amounts of carbon during growth, functioning as “carbon sinks.” CO2 uptake varies with environmental conditions (temperature, light availability, etc.), species characteristics (leaf area, growth rates, etc.) and individual (age, health status, etc.). This ability to store atmospheric CO2 in the form of plant biomass or soil organic matter is critical in combating climate change.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
\n
\n- 2. <\/span>Increased air quality<\/b> by capturing fine particulate matter (PM10 – 2.5): Plants along roads or near highly polluted areas of the city contribute greatly to mitigating airborne dust concentrations by intercepting and trapping particles on their leaf surfaces. In addition, they can absorb gaseous pollutants such as ozone, nitrogen and sulfur oxides and are also an important resource for mitigating climate change and particularly extreme thermal events.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
\n
\n- 3. <\/span>Hydrogeological risk reduction<\/b>: tree planting is a concrete response to the issue of hydrogeological disruption. In fact, trees, thanks to their roots, have the power to consolidate the soil and increase its permeability, thus reducing the risk of floods, landslides and mudslides.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

\n- 4. <\/span>Decreased heat island effect<\/b>: this phenomenon results in a warmer microclimate within urban city areas, with differences of up to 5 degrees. Trees are an effective solution to counter this phenomenon: they provide shade by intercepting and absorbing light, plus through evapotranspiration they actively cool the air in cities.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

\n- 5. <\/span>Improved quality of life<\/b>: the presence of trees provides additional direct and indirect benefits to human health and well-being. Spending time among the trees improves physical and mental health by increasing energy levels, speeding recovery time, and decreasing blood pressure and stress.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

\n- 6. <\/span>Increased biodiversity<\/b>: trees, especially at maturity, play a key role within terrestrial ecosystems; in fact, it is estimated that they provide food and habitat for more than 80 percent of the earth’s biodiversity. The integrity of ecosystems is a key element for life on earth to thrive. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Gianfranco Beniero and Elisa Beniero, the CEO of BeLeafing Emiliano Vettore and 3 classes of the Negri Institute of Vicenza. Willows, field maples and cherry trees have been planted.\r\n\r\n\u201cFighting the challenge of atmospheric and environmental pollution \u2013 says the owner of ECA Technology srl Gianfranco Beniero \u2013 has always been our mission, we have been doing it for over 40 years by offering technologies without the use of fossil fuels and we continue to do so through participatory actions exactly like this one. Since we took office as a municipal administration, we have planted a few thousand trees and we will continue to do so: to protect the environment, to improve the quality of the air and also the beauty of our Vicenza \u201c.\r\n\r\n\u201cIn the span of 5 years, the municipal administration\u2019s goal is to increase green spaces by planting 75,000 trees \u2013 declares the Councilor for Infrastructure Mattia Ierardi \u2013 Thanks to Beleafing and to many companies such as ECA Technology, what was a dream has become reality : so guys, believe in your dreams but above all fight for them, because dreaming is a real sign of maturity \u201c.\r\n\r\nIn 2021, ECA Technology undertook, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary, the #ECAGreen initiative, focused on shared and widespread reforestation in Vicenza, in collaboration with Beleafing, a young start-up of urban architects and landscape architects of the IUAV University of Venice .\r\nWhat is certain is the polluted air we breathe every day and this is demonstrated by the alarming data of the last year, especially in the Vicenza area. This is due to the use of fossil fuels such as boilers, stoves, fireplaces, etc., exhaust gases caused by urban traffic and industrial production.\r\nThe company, which already fights the current situation through the construction of photovoltaic systems, heat pumps and air purification, has decided to do more and to dedicate its anniversary to an innovative project involving institutions, companies and individuals with one goal: the protection of the environment through the choice of renewable technologies. In fact, during 2021, with the purchase of each ECA Technology product, the donation of a tree for the reforestation of highly polluted green areas was combined.
